My Weekend-The Writer's POV

***Friday of Memorial Day Weekend Driving to NYC to have HUGE weekend excursion with the Urchins' Girl Scout Troop***

Me-  silent for first ten minutes of four hour long trip in mini van with said Urchins and The Man.

Me (again)- **sigh**   I have a motivation problem with my new heroine.

The Man-  Bushy-eyed glance my way, then back to the road.

Me- after three minute silence-   You know, I think I have a problem with my new heroine's motivation.

The Man-  Oh.

Me- two minute silence, then-   I'm thinking I might have a problem with my new heroine's motivation.

The Man- **most likely contemplating the ramifications of being an unwilling captive audience**   Is that so.

Me- repeating statement in other ways for the next hour. (I am a writer after all, and can diversify my sentence structure.)

The Man- through gritted teeth-   Would you like to talk about it?

Me-   Sure!

***Two hours later after on and off brain storming, I'm not completely satisfied with my outcomes***

The Man-  Can we talk about this later instead of in a torrential downpour on the NJ expressway?

Me-  Oh. Sure!

***Two days of jam packed NYC activities with lots of little girls***

***Four Hour Drive Home***

Me- six minutes into drive home-   I don't know if you've heard, but I'm having some motivation  issues with the heroine of my new story.

The Man- White knuckling the steering wheel.

*******

***Memorial Day- 8 minutes into our one and a half hour drive to Philadelphia for a family picnic***

Me- contemplative silence as I think about heroine.

The Man-  Rumor has it that you're having motivational difficulties with your new heroine.

And that's one of the many reasons why I love that man o' mine!

I did partially work out some of the motivational issues for my new heroine, but need to research a bit to make sure they're plausible. I know you were dying to know. Which is why I love all of you!

Coming soon, my answers to the Leibster Award I was gifted by that cool cat Marci Koski of Fuzzy Undertones.

Until then, citizens!

LOL - Good man.

People's eyes glaze over when I bring up writing stuff.
I've learned not to bring up writing stuff. :P

Oh, and ROFL:
'Me- repeating statement in other ways for the next hour. (I am a writer after all, and can diversify my sentence structure.)'

xD

lol, now why does that sound familiar...oh bugger, forgot the liebster...Cheers.

I never bring up writing stuff. It's like my husband talking to me about computer code!

Hang onto that guy. When I try to talk to my husband about anything writing he always says, 'Shouldn't you be getting a check soon?'

LOL! My hubby is always pretty supportive about my writing. In fact, sometimes he tries to dictate how the story is going to unfold and I laugh and tell him I'm the author and he can go write his own book.

LOL oh you two!
My hubby is supportive . . . to an extent. As long as I don't expect him to remember all the tiny details, he's up for brainstorming. Once I'm done, he forgets. He knows too well that I'm going to probably change most of it, anyway. :P

LOL oh that's too funny. He's so a keeper.

Yup, don't throw that guy back - he's a keeper. Book problems can bog me down for weeks while I figure things out. I don't understand people who can write a novel in a month and send it to CPs. Good luck with the motivation problem!

He sounds like a true trooper. I don't even try with my husband. He doesn't even read! (Books, anyway.) He just wouldn't get it. That's why we have writer friends!

@Pat- I'm good like that.

@Melissa- He is a good man. Plus he couldn't get a way, so...

@Marci- I sho' nuff did! And answers are coming soon!

@40+ lol! thanks!

@Sherry- Yes, I'm very bad. He talks about his computer stuff and I immediately glaze over.

@Sue- I will and LOL!

@Crystal- lol!! You tell him!

@S.K. Ha! Good man!

@Anna- Yep, he is!

@Lexa- I know, I can take forever with my writing. I don't understand those writers either. And thanks!

@Stephanie- Exactly!! lol!!

As late to the party as ever, but oh, how I love this post.

"I am a writer after all, and can diversify my sentence structure."

And I was actually dying to know if you'd worked out some of the issues. Hope the research has worked out in your favor.

Nothing like bouncing an idea off your significant other. I do it with my wife occasionally, and she does offer suggestions, but most of the time she just nods at the right times and let me work things out for myself. She's a good listener.

ROTFL, Ava! How adorably funny! Perhaps one can't change one's spouse, but one can mold him in the desired image??? ;-) Brava, madam; I make note of your methods in the event I ever have occasion to use them. (Like, on my own potential future spouse, not on yours.) (Just sayin'.)

LOL as always!!!! What do you mean, other people aren't as fascinated by our writing processes as we are??? ;) bless that man. He's a good one.

So... How was the trip?!

Tasha Duncan-Drake said...

I'm glad you worked out the motivational issues :)

BTW I have nominated you for a Liebster award, I hope you don't mind. If you're not sure what that is (I hadn't a clue until someone nominated me :)) I have a post all about it here. You're under no obligation to accept, but I thought your blog deserved it.

Ava Quinn said...

@M.J.- Thanks, it pretty much has.

@Ken- That's a good woman you've got there!

@Mina- Hey gal! Good to see you!! and lol!

@Liz- Yeah, he's a keeper for sure. The trip was fun for the girls and incredibly tiring for the adults, as expected. ;D

@Tasha- LOL! I just posted my answers to the Liebster Marci gave me. I can't wait to go check out your answers, though!!
